Causeway Coast sporting heroes face nomination deadline

Nominations are open for the Moore NI Causeway Coast and Glens Sports Awards 2026, giving residents, clubs and sporting organisations until 4pm on Friday, 25 September to put forward eligible athletes, teams, coaches, volunteers and administrators.

The awards cover achievements and contributions made between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026. Entries must be submitted through Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s online nomination form.

Who can be nominated

Nominees must either live in Causeway Coast and Glens or compete for a team based within the borough. A person or organisation may be nominated in multiple categories when the relevant criteria are met.

The eligibility period means entries should focus on sporting work, performances or achievements recorded during the specified 12 months rather than an entire career, unless the chosen category’s criteria state otherwise.

Thirteen award categories available

The programme contains 13 categories spanning sporting performance and contributions made away from competition. Confirmed categories include:

• Services to Sport
• Disability Sport
• Coach of the Year
• Junior Sports Man
• Junior Sports Woman
• Senior Sports Man
• Senior Sports Woman

Entries close at 4pm on 25 September

Completed forms must reach the council no later than 4pm on Friday, 25 September 2026. The source notice does not indicate that late entries will be accepted, so nominators should allow time to confirm eligibility and prepare the information required by the form.

The selected athletes, teams and contributors will be celebrated at a gala evening at The Lodge Hotel on Friday, 13 November 2026.
