Grangemouth careers day: meet 24 employers free on 10 September

Jobseekers can meet employers, explore apprenticeships and get practical employment support at two free events in Grangemouth on Thursday, 10 September 2026. Both run from 10:00 to 14:00 at Grangemouth Town Hall and Grangemouth Municipal Chambers, with drop-in entry throughout the four-hour session.

The events are open to school leavers, people returning to work, those considering a career change, people facing redundancy and anyone who wants help preparing for employment. Falkirk Council is organising the programme as part of the first Scottish Employability Day.

Employers will discuss jobs, training and apprenticeships

The Jobs and Careers Insight Event at Grangemouth Town Hall will give visitors direct access to representatives from 24 employers. They will be available to discuss current vacancies, recruitment, apprenticeships, training and different routes into work.

Confirmed employers include Balfour Beatty, Ogilvie, Stantec, Paragon, Class One Traffic Management, Lowland Cooperage, Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership and Falkirk Council. Several of the participating employers will be actively recruiting on the day.

Visitors do not need to be applying for one particular role. The event is also intended for people who want to understand which opportunities are currently available and what employers may be looking for next.

Support with skills, confidence and barriers to work

Running at the same time, the Employability Support Open Day at Grangemouth Municipal Chambers will focus on the wider help people may need before moving into employment or training.

Organisations attending include CVS Falkirk, Cyrenians, Triage, The Conservation Volunteers, Link Living, Go Youth Trust, Barnardo’s, One Parent Families Scotland and the Salvation Army. Falkirk Council’s Welfare Benefits team will also be present.

Their support covers areas including training, skills, confidence and advice, as well as issues that can make it more difficult to enter or return to the workplace. Visitors can attend either venue or use the paired Jobs and Careers Insight Event and Employability Support Open Day to speak with both employers and support organisations.

Falkirk employment figures show the scale of local support

Falkirk Council reports that its employability service helped 408 local people enter work last year. It also supported 641 people to gain qualifications and helped 98 people begin Modern Apprenticeships.

Councillor Paul Garner, the council’s spokesperson for Economic Development, said the events would allow residents to speak directly with employers and find out about jobs, training and career support across the Falkirk area.
