The 12-week Public Consultation on Adult Social Care Services asks people with an interest in the services to say what matters to them, what currently works well and what they would like improved. West Northamptonshire Council says no decisions have been made while potential options and ideas are being explored.

Which adult social care services are being reviewed?

The consultation concerns the Council’s in-house adult social care provision as demand grows and people’s needs become more complex. It covers residential care, supported living, home care and day services.

Services named in the review are:

• Obelisk House and Southfields residential care homes
• Eleanor Lodge supported living service
• The Council’s home care service
• Day services at Gladstone Road, Olympus House, Towcester Forum, Longlands in Daventry and the Cottages

The review is also considering whether the current service models and the buildings they operate from are meeting people’s needs now and in the years ahead. The Council says it wants services to remain safe and high-quality, while supporting people to live as independently as possible.

This is an opportunity to give feedback before the consultation closes, rather than a notice of final changes. People who use the services, those close to them, staff and other residents can all contribute views on the proposals and on the future of the listed services.
